If you’ve been following the Wagner Construction blog, you know all about the expansive project we’ve been working on in Wildwood since last year. Well, we’re excited to announce that the project is finally complete!
This was a huge, multifaceted project to expand a concrete yard for a 30-acre site. We began with grading of the site and the relocation of a 5-acre stormwater pond. Next, we completed new landscaping on all 30 yards of the site to mitigate the removal of existing trees for the project expansion. This involved planting 211 crape myrtles, 1,666 live oaks, and 238 podocarpus hedges to create buffers, plus putting in about 250,000 square feet of sod.
With the site graded and landscaping done, we moved onto the concrete lay down phase, which involved putting down 5 acres of concrete paving. This works out to over 4,000 cubic yards of reinforced concrete. After that, we installed new lighting around the site, with integral WiFi and camera systems. The WiFi will allow workers to use the facility’s scanning system to search inventory and keep counts updated and accurate.
Then, it finally came time to put up the 21,000-sqare-foot pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) roof structure, supplied by Butler Manufacturing. It features a two-hour firewall, alleviating the need for a new sprinkler system in the building. Alongside the PEMB, we put in 1,200 feet of fire line and a suppression system.
With all that done, it came time for finishing touches. These include a quarter mile of new fencing with two access controlled gates and a video surveillance system for security.
Let’s check out some pictures of how everything turned out!
